JESU Confirmed For U.K.'s DAMNATION FESTIVAL

July 10, 2009

Experimental metallers JESU will headline the Rock Sound Stage at the U.K.'s Damnation Festival, set to take place Saturday, October 24 at Leeds University Union. They'll be joined by rising Belfast post-rock outfit AND SO I WATCH YOU FROM AFAR and England's brightest post-metal hope RINOA in creating chaos over three stages.

Rock Sound editor Darren Taylor said: "We're psyched about this year's lineup on the Rock Sound Stage. Damnation and Rock Sound have brought together some of the most innovative and exciting bands you'll see playing on the same stage.

"We've been long-term fans of JESU, so it's an honour to have them headline our stage this year."

Festival director Gavin McInally added: "It's no secret we've wanted JESU at Damnation for years so it's fitting that they are finally available to headline our strongest yet Rock Sound Stage which is crammed with experimental rock and metal talent.

"Some fans don't believe post-rock has a place at a metal event but the hundreds of ticket buyers who packed in to watch the likes of SHELS, LATITUDES and MOUNTAINS BECAMES MACHINES last year felt otherwise so we're delighted to be able to push the envelope further this year.

"With this year's solid line-up the Rock Sound Stage is an event in its own right and we're sure that for many fans it will be the place to be all day."

The festival billing is shaping up as follows:

THERAPY?
DESTRUCTION
JESU
ROTTING CHRIST
THIS WILL DESTROY YOU
AKERCOCKE
A STORM OF LIGHT
MISTRESS
NEGURA BUNGET
MINSK
EXTREME NOISE TERROR
